The school of Business, Nanjing University (NUBS) is a young but well-established institution. It is young because it has only been 18 years since it was formally recognized as the “School of Business” and well-established because it is in the solid business foundation developed more than a century ago during the period of the Sanjiang Normal School, established in 1902.

NUBS has created guiding tenets and goals, “to cultivate first-class talents, to produce first-class research results, and to provide first-class social services”. Since its establishment, the faculty and staff have carried on its quality traditions and ceaseless innovation, and in turn, have made great achievements in academic program building, teaching and training, scientific research, social services and international exchanges and co-operations.


To build NUBS as an internationally renowned business school has been our strategic choice. Therefore, we have emphasized the concept of “internationalization and openness” in respect to faculty recruitment, textbook writing, academic program development, research projects, and talent training. As a result, we have made tremendous progress and are at the forefront of other business schools in China.

Establishing NUBS as a strategic team is the principle measure we have taken to pursue our goals and objectives, NUBS has created a successful working environment, which is characterized by a harmonious atmosphere, a united and cooperative spirit, academic diversity and tolerance, complementary specialties and knowledge structures.

Our cooperative academic research team is composed of both junior and senior professors, the younger being the driving force. During 2004-2006 academic years, we have made greater efforts to recruit a number of new faculty who have the potentials for excellence in teaching and research and actively explore academic collaborations with internationally recognized first-class business schools. Let us work hard in pursuing the common goals so that we may share in the joy of our future success.

NUBS owes its development to the concerns and great support of domestic and international alumni and alumnae who are working for government, enterprises, fellow universities, schools, and academic research institutes, and to the sincerity and dedication of all the faculty, staff and students formerly and currently associated with NUBS. Therefore, on behalf of all the faculty, students and staff of NUBS, I would like to sincerely acknowledge and offer utmost gratitude to all the leaders, friends and alumni and alumnae who have cared, helped and supported the building and development of NUBS. I firmly believe that, with our joint efforts, NUBS will succeed as expected and produce a splendid future.

I am pleased to start a collaborative business relationship with IGB Network in Japan. Through this relationship, we can provide better and various business management programs for both Chinese and Japanese firms and business consultancy services in China as well as in Japan.
