Symposium 2009
IGB Network- IESE Business School
July 6th, 2009
The IGB Network Co., Ltd made a alliance with IESE, a world-famous business school based in Spain, currently ranked no. 3 in the world by the Economist and ranked no. 1 in the world in 2005 and 2006. To inaugurate this alliance, IGB Network and IESE will be holding a joint symposium on the strategic development of global leaders with an emphasis on Asia. The symposium will specifically focus on what multinational corporations must do to develop globally competent leaders– leaders equipped with the skills and characteristics to be effective in an ever more complex global business environment.
Since the 1990s China and India have enjoyed rapid economic growth. Despite the global recession, this trend looks likely to continue. However, Chinese and Indian firms are not as prominent on the global stage as their economic power would suggest. In the coming decade, however, we expect a more aggressive positioning of Asian firms. In this context, Japanese organizations will need to develop new leaders with a comprehensive set of global leadership competencies. Both IESE Business School and IGB are committed to help Japanese companies develop these competencies.

Press Release
THT`s eagerly awaited first books in the new Culture for Business Series have
recently been published. The Culture for Business Series uses a new logic
to look at issues facing business managers and leaders in today`s global,
multicultural market . The series breaks away from traditional management
texts that are overly influenced by Western research and thinking, and provides
a new conceptual framework for dealing with the business implications of culture.
As such, the aim of the series is to provide a practical toolkit for managers
and leaders by helping them develop a new mindset for working with and across
cultures. The four books in the series are:
Business Across Cultures
by Fons Trompenaars and Peter Woolliams
Managing People Across Cultures
by Fons Trompenaars and Charles Hampden-Turner
Marketing Across Cultures
by Fons Trompenaars and Peter Woolliams
Managing Change Across Cultures
by Fons Trompenaars and Peter van Prudhomme
Currently, the Culture for Business Series is available only in English. However,
the IGB Network is finalizing the translation into Japanese, of the first
book in the series, Business Across Cultures, and this is due to be published
in summer 2005 by Hakudo Shobu.
